Jon
Cooper (Chairperson)
Background/Current
Situation
After
many years in the commercial sector, Jon is now practising as in-house
lawyer for the NSPCC, the national child protection charity. Along
with his enthusiasm for film and digital arts, Jon's experience of
fundraising, safeguarding, regulatory and intellectual property issues
in a childrens' charity is of great value to [DaDa]. Additionally,
Jon's time in the business sector, where he worked for a financial
services regulator in the City as well as for a number of PLC companies,
has assisted [DaDa] to adopt effective and successful business disciplines
in its operations.
Relevant
Interests/Motto
Jon is
interested in environmental issues and has undertaken some research
work for Friends of the Earth, a group he has supported for many years.
He is a poor windsurfer with a passion for photography and cinema,
and aims to learn more of the filmmaking process through his work
with [DaDa]. Jon believes that DaDa's accessible, participative and
grass roots approach to film-making with children and young people
is unrivalled given the quality of the end product produced by its
film-makers.
